Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer

Location: Chicago, IL

Role Overview:

Flexpoint Ford (“Flexpoint” or the “Firm”) is searching for a Human Resources Manager located at the head office in Chicago, IL. Flexpoint, which also has an office in New York, has grown assets under management and employees over the past several years, and expects to continue that growth in the future. This role will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to grow with the Firm.

The HR Manager is responsible for facilitating a range of HR functions, particularly those relating to the day-to-day operations of the company’s human resource activities. This individual will serve as a true generalist and provide support, guidance and advice on a variety of HR disciplines while promoting innovative HR solutions to achieve strategic goals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and promote HR initiatives and programs that align with the Firm’s goals and values
  • Prepare bi-monthly payroll, ensuring the accuracy of gross pay and applicable deductions
  • Manage and be a source of knowledge for the Firm’s benefit plans (including 401k, medical, dental, vision, short term disability, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts and commuter benefits), coordinating with outside providers as required
  • Coordinate and manage the periodic assessment of employee performance
  • Leverage the recently implemented Paylocity system to improve processes
  • Manage the recruitment process for administrative staff, coordinating with internal groups and external recruitment firms
  • Manage the onboarding of new employees and offboarding of departing employees
  • Provide updates to the Employee Handbook
  • Coordinate HR training to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
    • PHR/SPHR or HRM certifications a plus
  • 7+ years HR experience
  • Strong verbal and communication skills essential
  • Knowledge of the rules regarding 401k plans, medical plans and savings accounts
  • Knowledge of MS Office & Outlook
    • Knowledge of Paylocity, Health Equity and/or Fidelity a plus
  • Previous financial or professional services firm experience
    • Previous private equity firm experience a plus
  • Experience with owning the HR function for a group of 10-100 employees preferred
